4.26.12

It is a busy week.
Here are two things I worked on of the same model.
Neither is finished, I have one six hour session left for the painting, and two six hour sessions left for the sculpture.

I've been working on this sculpture for the whole semester, its life size and has an internal supporting armature. Its made of clay (specifically long beach), and its the first time I've done a full life size figure.

I worked on this painting for 2 sessions so far, and have one left.
The colors are a little saturated in the photo, and I hope I can get a clearer one when its finished.

Dubious beginnings.

I don't exactly know what the first post of this "blog" should be.
I suppose I should start by saying that this is not really a blog at all, and is intended to be a timeline of the things I create.
I find myself making things a lot. In fact, they majority of my time has been devoted to making things. And for some reason people have asked me if I have a place where you can view all the things I make in one place.
Well Ta-da!
Its humble, just a little blogspot. But at least its a web address I can give to people who are interested.
I intend to post at least weekly photos of my work, as I seem to create things on a daily basis, but in the beging I'll probably post a few of my older objects.

Ok, cool, but what do I make?
Whatever I feel like that day, I'm fond of painting, drawing, doodling, sculpting, kitting, anything arts and crafty. I make things ranging from classical portraits in oil, to cute crocheted toys.

I'll start with this. This is a large in class portrait study of a model named Jim.
Its still a work in progress, we still have one class session left to work from life.
Its 18''x24'' oil on canvas panel.
The photo is cropped and I'll post the full image when its done. :)
